The TFD Tiffin’s are a chance for women in dentistry to network in a relaxing atmosphere over a delicious light ‘brunch style’ meal. Dil Se – Mailbox, located on Level 2 of The Mailbox in Birmingham, is a modern Indian restaurant offering a refined dining experience “from the heart.” Blending North and South Indian flavours, with highlights inspired by Kerala cuisine, the menu by Executive Chef Sanjay Das features everything from dosas and thalis to Indo-Chinese specials and creative desserts, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. Meet your Hosts:
Dr Janine Patel
Dr Janine Patel trained and graduated from King’s College London in 2011. After gaining experience in general dentistry, she went on to work as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Senior Health Officer at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Since then, she has worked in both NHS and private practices in London and Surrey before settling in Birmingham. She has completed postgraduate qualifications in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry and has a keen interest in facial aesthetics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Patel enjoys being a mum to her two young, highly spirited boys, as well as baking, playing golf, and the piano.
Dr Sandy Shergill
Dr Sandy Shergill graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2011. After gaining experience in NHS and Private dentistry she joined Invisalign in 2017 as a Clinical Specialist mentoring and training dentists on how to use clear aligners.
Dr Sandy then worked for Invisalign’s official education partner as the Director of Clinical Education for Europe. This involved training 31 speakers across Europe to deliver Invisalign certification courses and being the ClinCheck expert for their post graduate training programmes.
Since then, Dr Sandy has launched her training academy helping dentists deliver clear aligners to the highest standards, alongside working in private practice exclusively providing orthodontics.
Outside of dentistry Dr Sandy loves being a mum to her young son and travelling with her family.
