Hfsa Fahad
Hello!
I’m Hfsa, a fourth year dental student at King’s! Much like a mandibular molar, my roots too, are split; I have deep ties to both Manchester and London, so I’m usually found somewhere on the train line between the two. I serve as the current BDJ Student Editor – a role that allows me to merge my clinical world with a lifelong love for writing.
I’ve always been an artist at heart, writing everything from academia and scripts to content creation and journals. I even had the honor of seeing my words waxed onto the flags representing the North West during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. My background in leadership, Youth Parliament, and international policy shaped my perspective long before I entered the clinic; for me, the “dental world” has always felt inseparable from the wider world of social impact.
Since I didn’t inherit a map for this profession, I’ve spent the last few years charting my own course – an experience that turned “figuring it out” into a passion for helping others find their way, both into dental school and beyond. I learned early on that representation isn’t just about being in the room; it’s about ensuring the door stays open and that there’s a real hand reaching back to help you through it.
That is exactly what drew me to The Female Dentist. I am super excited to join a space where this kind of intentional, grounded support already exists, and to contribute to a community that genuinely backs the women coming up behind us. It’s also the driving force behind my commitment as the Co-President of Womxn in Dentistry at King’s and my own project, The Sehan Collective, a platform focused on turning conversations into opportunities and making dental pathways transparent and accessible for everyone. :)
When I’m not hosting events with WID or supporting a BDA campaign at the gates of Downing Street, I’m basically a side quest final boss. Always exploring, filming, or at a dental event, my favorite place to be is tucked away in a library – matcha in one hand, a book in the other, and completely lost in my thoughts.
I can’t wait to see where we can take this community together!!
Got any questions? I’m always happy to chat and help where I can – feel free to contact me via social media or email!
